During Lessons

Students are expected to be ready for their lessons on time and with all materials and music. For children, parents, siblings or other accompanying adults may quietly observe while the student practices. To respect other students’ time slots, discussion on student progress is welcome during the lesson – but not before or afterward.

Materials

To get the most out of your lessons, you will need:

  • a piano or a keyboard

  • a tablet, phone, or computer with a working microphone and webcam

  • a notebook and a pencil

  • a stable internet connection

At the first lesson, I will provide a list of books and other materials that the student will need.  These can be purchased from me, or through other avenues such as www.amazon.com.

Practice Expectations

Daily practice is vital to progress, so students are encouraged to practice at home between lessons. The recommended amount of practice time will be discussed with the student at their lesson. Parents are encouraged to be supportive and active participants during student practice.
